James Unland As our readers are aware we have, as an editorial policy, taken a strong interest in the future ability of our nation's community hospitals to access capital. This feature is part of an ongoing series of articles and audio interviews relating to hospitals' access to capital. During the fall of 2003 a collaboration of organizations--the Healthcare Financial Management Association, GE Healthcare Financial Services and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP--launched a year-long series of studies called "Financing the Future" which will result in a series of reports, the first two of which are available. James Unland, Editor of the Journal of Health Care Finance, recently had the opportunity to interview Richard L. Clarke, President and CEO of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and Randy Fuller, Hospital Segment Manager for GE Healthcare Financial Services. NOTE: Material on this and related subjects will be presented in the HFMA Chicago Chapter's Feb. 19 Program
